Fishing the Thomas Reservoir, Erie, Co
Thomas Reservoir is a nice place to get in quick fishing after work.
The reservoir gets stocked a couple times a year with trout. Best time to catch a trout is within the first few weeks of the stock. It seems like the trout get fished out quickly.
The reservoir is also a home to bluegill and bass. Most of these I've seen swim close to the bank. The bass were all small.
A trail loops around the Thomas Reservoir and allows for easy access.
Pros: Easy access
Cons: Heavily fished
If fly fishing you need to watch out for the in town walkers/joggers as the trail is close to the shore bank.
